Fun and Fantastic Frisbee Games
A simple game of tossing a Frisbee back and forth with a buddy can be fun, but Frisbees offer a much broader range of exciting games and activities for teams and individual competitions. Pack up your friends and a flying disc and head off to the nearest park or backyard for some fantastic Frisbee fun.
Ultimate Frisbee
One of the most popular and energetic Frisbee games created is Ultimate Frisbee. To play this game, you need a number of players to form two teams. Teams generally consist of seven players each, but any amount of individuals can play. The game is somewhat of a variation on American football with a Frisbee. Two end zones are created at either end of a rectangular playing field, and points are scored when a pass is made to a player standing in the opposing team’s end zone. It is illegal to run with the Frisbee. Once you catch the disc, you must stop and pass it to a team member. Play changes hands when the disc either lands on the ground or is intercepted by a member of the opposing team.
Golf Frisbee
Golf Frisbee involves throwing the disc at a bucket or various targets to see who can hit the target in the least amount of tosses. You can easily set up a Golf Frisbee course in your backyard with flower pots, buckets, or any other targets. While not as strenuous of an activity as Ultimate Frisbee, Golf Frisbee is a great party game for young and old children alike. It is also an excellent family activity.
Tag Frisbee
To play Tag Frisbee, set up two teams of players. Designate one team as “It” and try to keep the Frisbee away from those players. Once the disc falls into the hands of a player on the “It” team, the teams switch roles. In Tag Frisbee, no winners are generally declared unless a time limit is set on the game.
Pool Frisbee
To play Pool Frisbee, one player stands on the diving board and signals another player to toss the Frisbee. Once the disc has been tossed, the player on the diving board must jump into the pool and attempt to catch the Frisbee. Add extra points for jumping and diving style or height at which the disc is caught. Deduct points if the Frisbee is not caught before touching the water in the pool.
Bocce Frisbee
Bocce Frisbee is another great party game for the young and young at heart. Set up a designated target in your backyard. The object of the game is to toss the Frisbee as close to the object as possible without touching it. Each player should stand in the same spot when it is their turn to toss the Frisbee. For parties and children’s activity games, pass out prizes to the players who come closest to the target without touching it.
